The Brief

Whole house renovation in Long Ashton, Bristol

The clients came to us having lived in the house for 5 years. The customer wanted a more open plan layout on the ground floor to house a new kitchen/dining/living space in addition to the renovation of the first floor which included 1 bathroom, 1 ensuite & 4 bedrooms. We guided them through layout options including the re-allocation of spaces to create an open-plan layout.

The Challenge

The existing kitchen was located at the rear of the house in a small space with poor light quality. The plan agreed on was to relocate the kitchen to the current living room at the front of the house & with various structural steels inserted and a repositioning of the main staircase a large open plan kitchen/dining/living space was created. The renovation included a new aperture from the kitchen/dining space with direct access to the garden. The whole house was stripped back to bear before the necessary structural/building works were completed.

The Solution

By relocating the kitchen & staircase we were able to create a connected kitchen/dining/living space with a seamless transition into the garden.

A traditional kitchen was designed, manufactured and installed along with a set of sliding doors at the side elevation. 1 new bathroom, ensuite & WC were installed along with a walk-in wardrobe to the master bedroom. Various bespoke joinery elements were designed, manufactured & installed to make the most of the spaces.
